If you read that header and are like WHAT THE HECK is she THINKING!
Yes...we went there. Maria and I thought it would be a fun challenge for our guys to apply our face up...in their own "perspective". We put the challenge out there for our readers to take part as well.
If you did this with your spouse, brother, boyfriend or just a guy friend. YAY YOU! I am so glad you stepped out of your comfort zone. If you missed out on our first challenge...guess what we have another challenge coming up in TWO weeks. More on that later...
I had a blast with this challenge. First let me start by saying...my husband is color blind. He can only really see the color yellow. Everything else is a guess. He has ZERO artistic capabilities...coloring out of the lines...yep. He is that guy. So...going into this challenge I had the assumption that I would look like a street walker. Ever hear of that term "beat your face" when applying makeup?
Let me show you.
Before photo...I am super thrilled...
The process...
Final product...
It was complete chaos. We laughed the whole time. Really had a lot of fun together. The purpose of this challenge was NOT to look like a clown, but to clown around together. I love that we can do something silly like this. We ended up making this a whole family affair. My daughter was the photographer and my two boys helped their dad with what products go where. They usually see me put my makeup on in the morning.
My husband was such a nut through the whole process. Reading the labels on everything. He missed all the IMPORTANT steps when applying makeup. Like moisturizer, foundations, highlight and contour (which I am real big on) he didn't use eye shadow brushes, rather he used the sponge applicator. He said, "I am Picasso...I can make a masterpiece with one tool." *eye roll*
I think the part I laughed the most at was the bronzer...which he applied everywhere. Even all the way into my cleavage...I think here he was just having fun. I ate a little bit of lipstick...my teeth were a nice shade of hot pink...he did gouge up my eye shadow palette. My daughter was having a cow when my husband was making the dents in the shadows. In the end I got him back...with a big smooch on the cheek with my overly applied hot pink lips.
SO there is was...I hope you enjoyed the first challenge!
